Serve as a key advisor to the Hawai'i Pacific University president, Board of Trustees, and other senior leaders on strategic matters. Identify and assess emerging trends, opportunities, and regulatory changes affecting higher education and recommend tactical responses. Serve as the University's sentinel looking for external opportunities and risks that could affect the institution. Drive the creation and execution of innovative initiatives that enhance the University's competitive position and institutional reputation.Align strategic priorities with organizational capabilities and resources and pursue external partnerships to expand institutional capacity and to ensure that budgets and resources effectively support strategic priorities. Oversee the development and implementation of processes and systems that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.Collaborate with the president and VP of Advancement on engagement strategies with philanthropic foundations, alumni, donors, and advisory boards/councils and advance a government relations strategy for effective engagement with local, state, and national representatives. Oversee sponsored projects and develop strategies to expand portfolio of externally-supported research.
