Louise returned to an in-house HR line management role in 2000 when she took on the "green field" Director, HR role for William Buck, Melbourne. Over the next 8 years, Louise developed and grew the function to provide effective, best practice HR solutions. In May 2008 William Buck Melbourne merged with Grant Thornton Australia Limited. Louise played an integral part in cohesively managing the merger of the two firms, bringing together cultures, structure, policies and procedures etc., as seamlessly as possible without marginalizing any of our people.Continuing in the role of Director, HR, key accountabilities were to assist in driving progress towards a fully nationalised corporate structure. The role included the provision of strategic advice and counsel to the partners of the firm and liaison with all office managing partners to bring cohesion to the Partner KPI setting, performance management (balanced scorecard) and remuneration review process.

In early 1997, 2 work colleagues and I left KPMG to open the Melbourne office of Hewitt Associates. The separation from KPMG was "friendly" and involved many of the clients with whom we had worked at KPMG, moving with us to Hewitt Associates. Speciality areas during this time were organisation effectiveness, organisation structure analysis, design and definition, remuneration management, process/workflow analysis and assessment, engagement and culture surveys.

In 1992 KPMG, in conjunction with the relevant union bodies, developed a remuneration system specific to local governemnt. The system was designed to enable local government bodies to obtain a competitive market data in relation to both the public and private sectors.I was asked to join KPMG to assist in the final design phase and then the "roll out" implementation across the local government sector.In addition to the above, consulting services included provision of performance management + organisation structure and role definition advice.
