Industrial Engineer
CurrentCurrently assigned to the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard as part of the U.S. Navy's Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP), a NAVFAC project, I am engaged in one of the largest-scale initiatives in modern history. This project is pivotal as it aims to redesign the backshop model to meet the demands of the nation for the next 50 years. In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, modernization is crucial to maintaining operational readiness. Our team has successfully mapped over 2,000 repair processes, providing a comprehensive foundation for our innovative backshop model. By integrating the latest advancements, we ensure that our support team can effectively handle overhauls and maintenance, ultimately enhancing the Navy's capabilities. Leveraging industrial engineering principles, I serve as a bridge between engineers and mechanics, utilizing my expertise in submarine maintenance to analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and optimize repair, overhaul, and fabrication processes. Our approach, which includes developing an AI-based backshop model, enables data-driven decision-making to enhance efficiency and drive productivity improvements, ensuring that our operations are streamlined and future-ready.
