In my role working for Amazon Fulfillment, I work closely with several departments to ensure the flow of incoming products is as seamless + efficient as possible. Working primarily with the Inbound Receive team, I have been tasked with various tasks which include the following:• Worked closely with the Inbound Receive team to ensure incoming products are properly received, sorted and stored to meet company production targets, sidelining items as required. Sorting products is contingent on whether products are destined for local inventory for transshipment to different Amazon Fulfillment Centres i.e. carts for local inventory and totes for cross-docking purposes. Overage items and unauthorized products the fulfillment centre cannot store + process are among those associates are expected to sideline.• Spent time working with the Inbound Dock team to supply the Inbound Receive team with incoming items to process + handle.• Worked with Inbound Stow to store items in the company inventory for future retrieval.• Trained as a water spider with both the Inbound Receive and Inbound Stow teams supplying the required equipment appropriate for each department associate to meet, if not exceed, departmental targets.• I received official training on how to properly use Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor (VRC) equipment. The purpose of VRC Training is to ensure associates on upper levels of the warehouse are supplied with merchandise to store with Inbound Stow.• Worked with the Outbound Pack (Singles) team during Prime Week 2020 to pack outbound products destined for an Amazon Distribution Center for processing + shipping.• Worked closely with the Amazon Space Force team in implementing COVID-19 screening measures for all persons entering the YYZ4 Fulfillment Center + troubleshooting equipment malfunctioning errors. Also responsible for enforcement of COVID-19 protocol.

Thorold, Ontario, Canada

During my final work term placement with Niagara Region, I was assigned an assortment of tasks with the Community and Long Range Development Team. Some of the more noteworthy tasks include:• Directed people to the appropriate resources (e.g., members of project staff with the appropriate expertise) during public engagement sessions for the Niagara GO Project -- GO Service is expanding into Niagara Region with three confirmed locations in Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls and a fourth, unconfirmed location in Beamsville, Ontario.• Mapping projects for the Economic Development Branch (e.g., a mapbook project for land parcels within Niagara Region and mapping foreign ownership by local area municipality).• Updated records for the Niagara Employment Inventory (NEI).• Documenting flow diagrams for Regional Official Plan Amendments -- Used Microsoft Publisher for this particular task.

East Gwillimbury, Ontario

During my time with York Region, I worked with the Transportation Asset Management team. Tasks required work primarily in ArcGIS Suite of Products and the Feature Modelling Environment (FME), with a focus on some of the following tasks (list is not comprehensive):• Working with the aforementioned software, maintaining the in-house GIS infrastructure was among the main priorities (e.g., digitizing information about the road networks and identifying topology errors requiring correction by the appropriate departments and personnel).• Specific mapping and PDF deliverables were produced using a variety of techniques. In one scenario, a hyperlink and Unique Identifiers were provided; the two components needed to be concatenated as such: "[Part One of URL] + UniqueID + [Part Two of URL]". FME was used in this example to complete the task.

Downsview, Ontario

During my first co-op placement, I worked collaboratively with members of staff working out of both the Downsview and Ottawa offices at Environment Canada. Among other tasks I worked on during my time with Environment Canada include:• Manipulated spatial data in ArcMAP and Geographic Modelling Environment (GME) for cartographic uses. The deliverable visualized climate data - impermeability and precipitation levels - within the Lake Erie Basin. A weighted average value was produced, by administrative area, using the aforementioned data processing and manipulation tools. Excel was used for preliminary processing in this project.• Prepared instruction manuals in Microsoft Word detailing workflow processes in ArcGIS and related software packages (e.g., I needed to document the workflow process used for the Climate Mapping Project I was assigned).• Worked with ISO 190115 metadata standards in the creation and maintenance of various data sets (e.g., when documenting appropriate information for the aforementioned climate mapping project).• Tested the Environment Canada Data Catalogue manually in Internet Explorer and using an automation testing package, Selenium, in Firefox (Selenium being implemented for ease of use). Test cases were created if the specified sequence did not already exist.• Interacted with other members of staff using webinar technology (e.g., for visual and verbal presentation from remote locations).
