I provide remote technical support for companies which use the ViaSat LinkStar communications system. This includes maintaining and troubleshooting third-party equipment such as Sun servers and Cisco switches/routers, or ViaSat equipment such as DVB-S2 modulators and IPEs.I have also performed multiple LinkStar hub builds, which included from-scratch Solaris installs and Cisco switch/router configurations.In addition to these responsibilities, I frequently create .NET Visual Basic applications, and Python/BASH scripts to automate and assist with common troubleshooting tasks, such as collecting and graphing outage data, recording Sun server CPU utilization and processes over long periods of time, and checking the uptimes of each device on a given network segment.
