I am currently majoring in Biochemistry, with a minor in Biology and a focus in Forensic Science at the University of North Texas. Through this degree, I want to be able to pursue my dream of being a crime scene investigator and providing answers to people. The courses I take help me become knowledgeable of certain procedures and mechanisms for solving cases. I can also better familiarize myself with the tools and problem solving skills I would use in the lab. I strive to solve every case that comes my way and to enlighten families with the proper answers they deserve. I currently work as a Part-Time Desk Clerk at West Hall where I act as a form of security to our residents. I must watch the security cameras and follow concise procedures when needed to act upon incidents. This job requires me to always be attentive and oversee others in emergency conditions and occurrences. I am responsible for caring after all needs of the hundreds of residents that live in the hall and tend to their necessities. I also act as a resource for any questions the residents or anyone who calls the desk may have. My experience in customer service has given me the ability to communicate with others respectfully and clearly. I am a hard worker and am always determined to finish things. I am self-disciplined in following my organized schedule every day, and desire to stay on track and even work ahead at times. I can work alone but do my best work when I collaborate with others on large projects. When working with others, I am honest with people and desire to communicate with them appropriately.I am looking for an internship where I can impact people in a positive way. Obtaining an intern position at a forensic lab would provide me with the tools needed for my potential career as a crime scene investigator. Through an internship, I can build my hands-on experience that is needed in the forensics department and develop a series of skills that can carry over into every aspect of my life.
