Jess Conner is an Emmy award-winning network producer and writer with 10+ years’ experience. She currently works for the Award-winning “CBS Mornings” with Gayle King.Jess' job involves writing, producing, researching, overseeing edits, and coordinating with high-profile guests, publicists, and production teams. She’s produced hundreds of news-making interviews with actors (Denzel Washington, Paul Rudd, Amy Adams), filmmakers (Aaron Sorkin, Tyler Perry, Ava DuVernay), musicians (Jon Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys), politicians (John Lewis, Stacey Abrams, Jared Kushner), Fortune 500 executives (Sheryl Sandberg, Jeff Bezos, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi), and inspiring people (Oprah Winfrey, Brené Brown, Amanda Gorman).In 2021, Jess produced an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey the day after her headline-making interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aired. This marked the first time in history, the CBS morning broadcast was the number #1 morning show ahead of “Good Morning America" and “The Today Show." In 2018, she supervised CBS News’ coverage of Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding, overseeing live segments and producing feature piece. She was the on-site anchor producer for Gayle King and Kevin Frazier six hours of live wedding coverage from Windsor. She created the royal wedding briefing book, coordinated guests and wrote 100+ questions for the interview segments. Jess was part of the morning show's presidential election team during both the 2016 and 2020 elections. She produced interviews with several Republican presidential candidates during the 2016 election season.Her career began at CNN’s Emmy Award-winning primetime show AC360 with Anderson Cooper, where she was a control room Associate Producer handling breaking news stories and crashing last-minute interviews. Jess worked alongside a veteran senior producer on several documentaries including “WITNESSED: The Iran Hostage Crisis,” “WITNESSED: The Killings at Kent State” and "81 minutes: Inside the Greatest Art Heist in History."In 2014, she worked with editors and investigative producers on several pieces for an investigation into military veterans dying waiting for treatment because of delays at Veterans Affairs hospitals. “CNN Investigative Reports: Crisis at the VA” won a Peabody Award. She is a San Diego native, and graduated from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at University of Southern California. Jess held internships at Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, Giorgio Armani Press Office in London, and KNBC in Los Angeles.
