I oversaw development and managed 13 major releases across HR, benefits, payroll, reporting, performance management, and onboarding modules, and implemented Agile scrum and Kanban processes. Coordinated priorities across 5 sprint teams, I led product discovery, refocused the product upmarket, and led transition from major releases to an Agile delivery schedule. I led technical third-party integrations with white-labeled preferred partner software modules, co-led the process of SOC Type 1 certification, and established a Net Promoter Score program.

When Benu acquired enrollment technology platform Clear Benefits, I was promoted to lead product management for the new merged organization of 80 people. I had 2 direct and 8 indirect reports and took on Agile leadership of the new team. I led product in every step from detailed requirements to managing the release process as we deployed new modules and implemented efficiencies to save time and money.

As Benu expanded from the Northwest into the Mid-Atlantic and California, I was promoted to lead all Operations including Implementations, Account Management, Sales Support, Risk Adjustment, and Renewals. With 15 direct reports, I oversaw all operational functions for the private healthcare exchange business and Kaiser Permanente’s “Multi-state” platform.

Benu was a startup with 12 people when I joined to do implementations and account management and I was soon promoted to lead the team that managed more than 30 clients in the Northwest and Mid-Atlantic. I managed 3 implementation specialists and account managers as we integrated and implemented benefits administration between clients, health plan partners, and internal teams.

In the dotcom heyday, I was recruited as the first QA person for a 12-person wild-west startup. I set up QA processes and practices from the ground up, transitioned the growing end-user support team from QA into an independent team, and then grew both organizations by instilling a customer-first culture. My teams consistently led internal employee satisfaction ratings.

I went to work for EDS, a pioneer in IT equipment and services, as a temp for the Pacific Bell annual enrollment period for employee benefits. They liked me and offered me a job as a Business Analyst, and gave me top-tier training in all aspects of system and software development. This was my serendipitous entry into human capital software and gave me an excellent foundation in the business of technology.
