Hello! I'm Jessica Love, a postgraduate researcher and clinical psychology PsyD student. With over 20 years of experience as a paraglider pilot, my journey through fear and performance in high-risk sports have inspired my academic and professional pursuits. I am working towards a PhD in Sport Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, where my research focuses on how paraglider pilots experience fear and how fear influences their performance.Alongside my PhD, I am also pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University. My goal is to integrate my research with clinical practice, helping individuals in high-risk sports and professions cultivate resilience and cope with the psychological demands of extreme environments.I am passionate about applying insights from my research to real-world practice. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, I specialize in working with clients in extreme environments, such as high-risk sports or demanding professions. I am particularly interested in developing trauma-informed, resilience-building strategies tailored to these unique challenges.I am also working towards certification as a Brainspotting practitioner. I have completed Phase 1 and Phase 2 training and collecting hours towards certification under the supervision of a Brainspotting Consultant. If you're interested in Brainspotting, I am accepting new clients. The preliminary results of this therapy are promising, and I am eager to incorporate it into my practice to offer innovative and effective treatment options.My professional background includes roles in academic advising, research assistance, and program management, where I have honed my skills in qualitative research, creative problem-solving, and positive coaching.
