John Frager is responsible for over 300 real estate professionals across multiple service lines, including Advisory & Transactions Services, Capital Markets, Project Management, Property Management, and Valuation & Appraisal Services. He is responsible for the successful integration of these business lines for the benefit of CBRE's clients. From 2016 to 2021 he served as chief of staff for the Pacific Southwest Division. In this role, he directly supported the president in the management and operations of the firm’s 18 local offices – including greater Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, San Diego and Hawaii – and assisted in the coordination and planning of business activities of Advisory Services. Previously John led CBRE's Technology & Media Practice from 2013-2107, an national advisory group comprised of the company’s industry experts, covering the top technology markets across the U.S. and Canada.

John oversaw a service line with more than 1,200 professionals, and their associated support staff, who focused on the real estate needs of owners, investors and occupiers of office properties across the Americas. Mr. Frager spent the majority of his time traveling to CBRE offices throughout the Americas where he gained a deep understanding of the company, its clients and industry knowledge. His team helped develop the strategic plans that led to dramatic change in the years to follow.

Pathfinder Partners, LLC ("Pathfinder") manages various private real estate investment funds that acquire distressed commercial real estate loans and commercial real estate properties at substantial discounts to their replacement costs and their pre-market disruption values. Pathfinder’s funds co-invest along with strategic operating partners and capital partners across a broad range of geographic areas and property types that promise attractive returns with carefully controlled risks.

John was responsible for strategic planning as well as overseeing the day-to-day activities of the company sales. During his tenure as CEO of BRE Commercial, Frager developed an infrastructure for sustained growth while integrating front and back office information systems to improve efficiency. Under his leadership, BRE launched several new divisions, including Financial Advisory Services, Debt Placement and Capital Markets, and acquired several businesses. Other projects included changing tax status from C Corp to S Corp and LLC, installing new general ledger system and chart of accounts, and a new property information system integrated with the accounting systems. He also led the rebranding of BRE from NAI Global to Grubb & Ellis in 2004. He served on the Executive Committee of NAI Global, and then the Chairman of the executive committee representing over 50 Grubb & Ellis affiliates. Later he was a founding member on steering and project launch committees to start a completetly new national company, Cassidy Turley, and rebranded the local BRE operations again in 2010. These changes, along with the recruitment of new brokers brought the company an increase in revenue of almost 100 percent as the firm became the leader in market share in San Diego.

Frager started in the San Diego office, where he was a Top 5 producer four out of five years. Then he made a stop as the Managing Director of the Denver South office before being promoted to the Senior Managing Director of the Sacramento/Central Valley area. There, he managed five offices, assisted with the direction of the Pacific Northwest and was honored with the James J. Didion Leadership Award in back-to-back years. His fourth year as a manager saw Frager in the Newport Beach area where he served as the leader of the company’s Web Services & e-Business Group and was responsible for providing policy and guidance for all Internet-related initiatives, including bringing the company to the web at the height of the technology boom. During his final year with CBRE he served as a member of the Global Corporate Services leadership team, overseeing that unit's accounting, technology and information management efforts.

Tours in the Philippines, Australia and Japan. Later he assisted in the standup of the first forward deployed helicopter squadron in Guam providing logistics support for ships operating in Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Red Sea and north Indian Oceans. After that he was appointed a special advisor to the Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Air Forces.
