With over 150 scientists and engineers the Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) works with industry and health sector partners to enable the digital transformation of healthcare to improve services and clinical treatment for Australians.RESPONSIBILITIES ✦ Oversee commercial and research outputs, ensuring superior delivery of innovation initiatives in areas such as data interoperability, digital therapeutics, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT). ✦ Provide oversight for activities including finance, HR, resource management, HSE, facilities, regulatory compliance, communications and leadership development. ✦ With input from the Board co-develop, implement and report on the AeHRC Growth Strategy. ✦ Establish and nurture an extensive stakeholder network encompassing industry providers, healthcare services, government bodies, universities and research institutes. ✦ Lead CSIRO’s Health portfolio in New South Wales, including a relocation to the Westmead Health and Education Precinct. ACHIEVEMENTS✦ Established exciting new programs of work with key industry and government partners including Dedalus, Johnson and Johnson Med Devices, HealthDirect, National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), Therapeutics Goods Administration, Australian Digital Health Agency, Department of Health and Aging and NSW Health, leading to the licensing and transfer of AeHRC technology nationally and internationally. ✦ Developed CSIRO’s Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) Strategy.✦ Delivered high impact research collaborations including with Johnson & Johnson Med Devices to develop and clinically validate a novel virtual care technology platform that empowers knee replacement patients to influence their own recovery.✦ Secured exciting new scientific projects at the Westmead Health & Education Precinct in Bioinformatics for Gene-editing and Phage therapy, and AI to improve the outcomes for pre-term babies.✦ Awarded the CSIRO Medal for Diversity & Inclusion
