Current- Review Notice of Intent applications for general wastewater discharge permits- Issues General Permits for hydrostatic testing of tanks, pipes, and pipelines, and for potable water systems, dewatering from construction activities, groundwater remediation, draining or flushing of fire control systems, untreated water, and swimming pools.- Successfully completed the U.S. EPA NPDES Permit Writers’ Course- Creates fact sheets, Individual Permits, and public notices for State/NPDES discharge permits- Holds public informational meetings on discharge permits- Ensures that tentative and final determinations are defendable and that permit conditions are enforceable- Provides friendly and timely customer support to applicants- Conducts facility inspections to review their wastewater processes- Determines appropriate technology and water quality-based controls - Holds training events on General Permit for the general public and for MDE employees- Regularly attends training events related to water pollution control issues, modeling, and watershed approaches to pollution control
