Scholarly HistoryIn 2009 I received my Associate in Business Studies in General Management from Delta Community College. Upon re-entering the workforce, I discovered an associate degree was simply an inflated high school diploma. I set my sights higher and enrolled in classes to work on my bachelor’s degree. This is where I discovered I enjoyed writing and changed my major from business to creative writing, then again to professional and technical writing.How I Got HereAs the finish line of my college years loomed closer, I mentally prepared myself to compete with digital natives in the job market. As luck would have it, I found myself making small talk with a stranger at a middle school band concert. I discovered that she was familiar with my degree (most people have never heard of professional and technical writing). I left that evening with her business card in my hand and an invitation to learn more about her inbound marketing business. What I’m Doing NowWorking in the digital marketing space has taught me more than my expensive college degree. I have experience in:• Content and Copy Editing• Writing Blog Articles• Webpage Design• Email Marketing• Keyword ResearchIn My Spare TimeSpending time outdoors, camping, and hiking is my escape. Reading is my indoor therapy. A few of my favorite authors are Richard Paul Evans, Kristen Hannah, and Elin Hilderbrand. I also spend a lot of time writing creative fiction and non-fiction (journaling is a great self-care activity!).
