I have been a member of the Wauwatosa Fire Department since March 2001 and was appointed as Fire Chief in April 2018. In addition to my primary duties I serve on many additional committees & teams. Some of these include:- Wisconsin Fire Chiefs Education Association Board Member- Southeast Wisconsin Homeland Security Partnership Board Member- Milwaukee Regional Medical Center Emergency Preparedness Committee- Medical College of Wisconsin Institutional Biosafety CommitteeOutside of the fire department, I am a member of the Wisconsin-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team as a logistics office. I have deployed numerous times to large disasters such as Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Harvey as well as National Special Security Events including State of the Union Addresses. For many years I was a part-time EMS instructor at the Waukesha County Technical College as a member of the Muskego Volunteer Fire Department as the Assistant Chief. Prior to the Wauwatosa Fire Department, I have worked at the Marshfield Fire Department, Bell Ambulance, and Kettle Moraine Ambulance service. Probably one the things I am most proud of is the fact that I served as an active-duty member of the United States Air Force over eight years from 1989-1998. My official classification was that of a personnel specialist, I was assigned the majority of my career as a personnel readiness team member. While at permanent duty stations I was responsible for managing the deployment process of base personnel. When deployed to operational locations, I was commonly attached to remote Air Force or Army units to provide personnel support. Some of these deployments included Turkey/Iraq during Desert Storm and as a United Nations peacekeeper in Haiti.
