Recruited to create, design, and manage a global enterprise data communications network for 200+ locations spanning 3 countries and serving over 3000 users. Also managed the Client Server Administrations group for Tyson.• Redesigned Tyson Foods corporate network structure twice in 5 years in order to take full advantage of emerging network technologies and meet the expansion plans of the corporation.• Developed network standards to meet the needs of Tyson and the enterprise systems architecture and created Tyson Foods first enterprise management strategy.• Developed the Telecommunications vendors’ assessment criteria for corporate Wide Area networks; negotiated the network SLA and other contracts; administered an annual hardware and services budget in excess of two million dollars.• Developed the Tyson Foods Disaster Recovery plan for Telecommunications.• Responsible for merging new company acquisitions into Tyson’s overall corporate enterprise network.

Tallahassee, Florida Area

Administered special projects impacting the entire Florida Corrections Department. Second level manager of three Systems Project Analysts and their staffs. Responsible for project development, long-range planning, and budgetary analysis.• Specified the design and created the Request for Proposal of an inmate accounting system for all Florida prisons. The development of this system included hardware, software (database and application) and networking. Elements of this project were an inmate photo id/barcode system, inventory control and Mini to Mainframe accounting upload/download system. • Provided the inmate accounting system project management until the pilot phase had ended. Full completion of the project did not occur until 1998. Estimated savings to the State of Florida in 1989 dollars was approximately $2,000,000/year by project completion.• Designed, developed the RFP, evaluated and selected vendor and implemented a statewide wire line data communications network.
