Working in the Civils department to deliver key documents. Working on the GWEp (Great Western Electrification Programme). I have experience in developing a technical workscope for a topgraphical survey and documents for civils design options.

Working as part of a team to: • Replacing parts of track. This included moving rail sections, aligning the rails onto the sleepers, connecting the fishplates to the track and tightening the fishplate bolts.• Operate a steam locomotive, assisting the driver and fireman on the footplate. This helped me develop skills in working under pressure; I constantly had to monitor the water pressure and fire, along with looking out for obstructions on the track to ensure the locomotive operated safely. • Help restore an out-of-service steam locomotive. This included being trusted to use machinery such as sanders and pressure washer to clean the inside of a locomotives frames, and then painting it.• Maintain a historic bridge. This included scraping off rust using scrapers and then painting it.• Control Vegetation. This included spraying the overgrown vegetation with weed killer, then when the grass had dried out, burning it in a controlled manner.

• The job mainly involved collecting trolleys and taking responsibility for the potential risks of doing so, as well as assisting customers with any problems they had. • I undertook health and safety training, along with training in communicating effectively with customers.• This job helped my develop my interpersonal and communication skills, be it talking to my fellow employees or answering customers’ queries.• I would use my initiative and complete any additional tasks available.
