I am a data scientist and a machine learning engineer who has worked in multiple domains.Most recently, I have been working in the field of pharmacovigilance, doing data science with the world's largest global database of reports of suspected adverse events to medicines. I have worked on diverse problems, from duplicate detection, to developing tools and interfaces to complement the work of our domain expert colleagues, to advanced methods for highlighting disproportionately reported side effects.Prior to this, I worked at a bank/fintech company, where I worked in a research and development group applying machine learning methods to enhance the user experience of shopping online. My PhD was in astrophysics, although I often say that the PhD was in data science, where the data happened to be astrophysical. I was working in a group trying to understand the collection of stellar circumstances that lead to gravitational waves being detectable on earth.
