Equivoice has been providing enhanced services to clients for 20 years, specializing in network infrastructure management and Cloud services. I manage a team of Operations Assemblers and Operations Engineers, overseeing the installation of server hardware and components, and taking charge of complicated installations/troubleshooting. Our team installs, configures, tests, troubleshoots and maintains hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster). We also tackle the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols.

Supervise eight managers and a staff of 50+ in North America and Asia who are responsible for engineering, design and strategy of all UNIX, Windows, Novell, collaboration/messaging, and print/facsimile infrastructure consisting of over 3,500 servers, 1000+ printers, and 28,000 workstations worldwide. Accountable for technology governance, product management, research and design, and financial management of an annual operating budget and capital budget totaling $60M. Responsible for SLAs, performance planning, goal management, leader development, and relationship management with key business leaders.• Saved $10M+ over 4 years in reduced operating expenses through aggressive license management, supplier negotiations, and elimination of unnecessary maintenance contracts and expenses.• Standardized the x86 server infrastructure on blade and VM technology resulting in $2.5M reduced capital spend, capacity for 1,000 new virtual servers with no growth in power/cooling/network costs, a 30% reduction in operating expenses per server instance, and improved performance and availability. • Managed the rapid expansion of Unix server infrastructure in support of the new Multi-process HR Outsourcing line of business while limiting the growth in server counts and associated software costs. • Sponsored multiple strategic initiatives including Unix platform rightsizing (consolidation and cost reductions), service delivery management systems and processes employing ITIL v2 principles, associate workplace flexibility, and organizational restructuring.• Delivered a comprehensive recommendation to Hewitt leadership for the deployment of a new strategic collaborative solution with SharePoint technology. Pilot efforts currently underway.• Managed through significant organizational change while maintaining low attrition and retaining key talent.• Selected by the CIO to be the IT management lead for an external organizational review of capabilities and costs by McKinsey & Co

Selected by the CIO along with two other associates to research and direct the technical and organizational transformation of the Hewitt IT organization in order to meet the need of the changing business. • Delivered a comprehensive 13 point recommendation to Hewitt leadership for the procedural and organizational transformation of the IT organization based largely on ITIL v2 principles.• Coordinated formation of four program boards to oversee the multiple projects resulting from the 13 points. • Developed and implemented a standard services catalog, a project initiation, approval, and prioritization process, and a new organizational model consisting of a transition to groups specializing in operations and engineering.

Responsible for the creation and enforcement of enterprise technology standards and for the discovery and evaluation of new technology opportunities for the enterprise. • Developed governance processes and systems for the creation and maintenance of technology standards, reviews, exceptions, evaluations, and product management. • Introduced numerous technology innovations to the IT organization including virtual server technology, storage networking (iSCSI, NetApp), extranet access management, single sign-on, identity management, enterprise PDA/BlackBerry/wireless solutions and on-line collaboration.• Implemented a customer-facing portal delivering data analytics, collaboration, advanced reporting, and secure messaging to HR leaders within 250+ of Hewitt’s best clients known as the ‘Plan Sponsors.’

Managed a diverse team of 18+ associates responsible for enterprise directories, file& print services, Windows application servers, server backups, workgroup printing and access control for distributed servers in 80+ locations worldwide.• Implemented an enterprise user directory with standard access controls and global presence • Managed the delivery of new infrastructure during a very rapid growth period in Hewitt history. In 1997-98, 20 new locations were opened worldwide, each with distributed IT technology present.• Worked with our strategic suppliers to maximize the scalability and capabilities of current solutions.
