James K. Gardner represents clients in complex civil litigation matters, competitive analysis of mergers and acquisitions and enforcement agency challenges to transactions. He has developed extensive experience in the areas of antitrust and trade regulation, health care litigation, consumer fraud, unfair competition and business torts litigation, particularly class actions. Jim’s experience includes an active trial and appellate practice in federal and state courts in Illinois and other jurisdictions. His background includes substantial involvement in arbitration proceedings and mediation efforts, management and coordination of multidistrict litigation and supervision and management of litigation portfolios. Jim is recognized as a leader in the 2010-2013 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (recommended in “Antitrust”). He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America since 2006 and Illinois Super Lawyers 2014 edition.Prior to joining the firm, Jim was an assistant professor at the Indiana University Graduate School of Business, Bloomington, Indiana, where he taught law courses to business students.
