CurrentPrincipal Consultant at The Pythian Group, with a focus on Oracle database technologies and related infrastructure.My experience at Pythian has been varied and interesting.If you want to get exposed to many different environments, keep learning new skills and adding to your current skill set, this is the place to be.Recent Projects of Note:Helping one large financial institution overcome performance problems that were causing trading SLA's to be missedDiscovered performance issues and suggested corrective action with each of the following- SQL statements- PL/SQL code- Vendor softwareSeveral minutes of time needed to be found and eliminated so as to meet SLA's.My comprehensive report helped them do that.Another financial institution was working on all new systems using a completely new to them architecture. My role was to help them with the following:- understand how some of the components worked together at a low level: clients, application servers, the Linux operating system and Oracle databases.- find where performance issues were coming into play- understand how network and firewall issues were impacting the new applications
