Current Intern with the Davenport Community School District. Honing my professional counseling skills in the areas of academic, career, and social/emotional needs of all students within my school communities. With a passion for data, I have created and utilized data tools to measure and inform my counseling practice. With a passion for student success and promoting lifelong learning within my students, I strive to make a difference everyday in my schools. As I move towards graduation in May of 2018, I continue to develop and grow my counseling theory and practice.

Manage the reception area in the office of the Vice President, including greeting visitors and responding to telephone and in-person requests for information. I plan, organize and execute school and special events, as well as, maintaining billing and budget files. To assist in the filing of purchase orders and billing, I implemented a new organizational system to track payments. I create, update and improve spreadsheets for administrative purchasing and benchmarking purposes. Beyond my supervisor, I support up to 7 administrators including Vice President of the University. Finally, I manage confidential documents including personnel, institutional, and historical documents.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa Area

Recruited, trained, and provided ongoing support for volunteers mentoring youth with incarcerated parents in Linn County, Iowa. I worked with 60+ families and youth to build rapport and to support child/mentor relationships. I forged and maintained relationships with administration and staff of the surrounding 4 school districts, including Cedar Rapids, Prairie, Linn-Mar and Marion. I also provided supervision, leadership and coaching to 6 AmeriCorps service members. In addition, I facilitated monthly girls’ groups; coordinated and ran monthly mentor support and training opportunities, and planned the annual mentor recognition event for 100+ mentors, children, family and community supporters

Cedar Rapids, Iowa Area

Aided the coordination and supervision for four youth programs, including 1:1 Mentoring, Youth Leadership, Leadership Resiliency and Enrichment Day Camp. I also coordinated and supervised fundraising for the Linn County AmeriCorps MLK Day of Service project for 3 consecutive years (2010-2013). I engaged diverse groups of youth and adults to participate in various trainings and activities. These included a bi-monthly girls group activities for 20+ middle and high school youth, as well as mentors and mentees. I collaborated with 5 other AmeriCorps members to collect data and performance measures for monthly grant reporting. In addition to AmeriCorps service hours, I also acted as the Interim Program Coordinator for the Foster Grandparent Program (July-November, 2012). During this time I coordinated the FGP program during absence of regular staff. I recruited and provided ongoing support for 35 volunteers mentoring 200 children at 20 local schools and community sites in Linn and Johnson Counties in Iowa.

I managed daily kitchen operations and directed staff of 35+ individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures; communication and support of ELL staff members; included interviewing, hiring and disciplinary action meetings.
