Supervising academic program and providing instruction for underserved and at-risk 9th grade girls as part of my school-within-a-school project, Girls Going Global, at the Heritage Peak Broadway Learning Center in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. This involves weekly small group classes and one-on- one tutoring that supports an independent study curriculum, as well as providing many enrichment opportunities for after-school extracurricular activities and field trips.

Developed language arts curriculum and planned lessons; taught middle and high school English; taught drama; mentored new teachers; organized English Department meetings; selected and ordered new curriculum; participated in curriculum review, served on Library, Fine Arts, and Assessment committees, sponsored a twice weekly Social Justice club and coordinated Community Outreach Days and assemblies for high school and middle school students; tutored international students in after school homework club; planned and led student travel to GIN (Global Issue Network) conferences in Peru and Brazil and educational student group travel to London, Paris, Florence, Rome, Venezuela, and South Africa.

Developed a curriculum for the discipleship and training of international teams of young adults in a cross-cultural context with a strong focus on character and spiritual development, team-building, leadership, conflict resolution, and a sustainable response to issues of social injustice; counseled and mentored girls and young married couples.

Developed the middle and high school language arts curriculum, including the formation of core curricular priorities and selection of new materials. Developed and implemented the AP program in the English department and wrote the curriculum for AP auditing. Planned instruction and taught 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades (alternating years). Developed a new Sociology elective course for high school: Sociology: Urban Issues and Social Justice, involving field trips and on-location teaching.
