Manage a federated team of IT and 9-1-1/3-1-1 personnel we call JTAC - Joint Technology and Communications. Areas of responsibility include computer aided dispatch and NG 9-1-1 programs, business analysis, portfolio management, operational support and analysis, and technology strategy and budget.

Application support analyst for the Public Safety Program Group; Lead efforts to implement Integrated Public Safety Computer Aided Dispatch; Manage 911 Telephony software; Work with public safety customer departments, primarily for Fire (including emergency management) and ECCS to help procure, implement and manage the entire lifecycle of applications across the public safety community of interest.

Lead department efforts for analysis, implementation, maintenance and support of technology projects. Coordinate internal testing and training. Serve as CAD and Telephony System Administrator. Work closely with IT and other public safety technical staff to provide consistently informed expectations for policy decision making and process development. Coordinate department inventory of hardware and software, keep updated on new services and products, and stay abreast of technology changes.

Long-term special assignment representing the department in upgrade/replacement of multiple systems. Department liaison/subject matter expert for telecommunications systems including 911 customer premise equipment, ALI database management services and legacy selective router upgrade as part of an overall NG9-1-1 implementation strategy. Also represent the department for upgrade/replacement project for computer aided dispatch systems, console equipment and ancillary systems. Assist with requirements/functional specification development, advocate for 911 in technical procurements and lead change management, project milestone communications, internal training and testing efforts. Lead the Next Generation Systems team, a group of operations employees who will serve as subject matter experts across a 24/7/365 shift-work environment.

Provides immediate oversight of floor personnel assigned to the function of providing emergency and non-emergency service for Police, Fire, and Rescue. Ensures appropriate delivery service to the public is provided in an efficient and expeditious manner; ensures that all orders, directives, policies and procedures pertaining to operational procedure are adhered to for the division to operate in an efficient manner; exercises supervision over personnel assigned to the 9-1-1 Operations section to ensure that the goals and objectives of the Division are maintained at the highest level; recommends disciplinary action for subordinate staff; provides input to performance appraisals; performs minor repairs on communications equipment and sophisticated computerequipment to reduce downtime and provide uninterrupted service to the public; provides detailed status reports for system technicians to ensure the most cost effective and timely efforts are being carried out; monitors and evaluates incoming and outgoing telephone calls to ensure that resources are being utilized to their optimum level; schedules the daily work assignments of telecommunicators to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency of available personnel; provides training to subordinate personnel; maintains and updates files and logs as necessary for efficient operation, to provide accurate information, and records upon request; responds to requests made by subordinates for assistance during situations that require a higher level of experience to maintain a professional operation; interviews and selects personnel for communications employment and promotion; notifies department heads of emergency and disaster situations after appropriate preparation has been initiated so that they are apprised ofcritical situations.
