- Project & technical management of numerous external & internal IHC collaborations.
- Technical expertise & training given in the use of Ventana & Dako automated immunostainers.
- Proficiency with Beecher manual & automated tissue arrayers & pioneer for building of in-house frozen TMAs.
- In depth knowledge of Applied Imaging ‘Ariol’ automated image capture & analysis system.
Research Scientist
- Project & technical management of externally sponsored imaging projects up to a value of £150K, delivering data to clients within specified budget & timelines.
- Technical management of the imaging component of internally sponsored drug discovery programmes, working as part of a larger project team & contributing to patent applications where required.
- Expertise gained in IHC, western blotting, receptor autoradiography, histology, interpretation & image analysis.
- Participation in a 24hr on-call rota, involving human tissue dissection & processing.
- Supervision/training of new staff & students; database curation; maintenance of SOPs & training records.
- Training received in following areas: presentation skills; project management; modern IHC; statistics; scientific & technical report writing; molecular morphology; radiation protection; proteomics; molecular biology.
