I paint or sketch portraits of people and pets, sculpture or any other type of art form that moves me at the moment

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students about nutrition, human growth and development and other aspects of health. I also teach very basic cooking, financial literacy and sewing.I am on my school's leadership committee. I represent the "unified arts" Wellness(my program), Phy Ed, Drama, Art, Computer Technology and Music.The leadership committee addresses the priorities of student need in our school which are currently literacy in math, reading and behavioral concerns.I am also the Gay Straight Alliance advisor.

I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade students -11-14 year old children.Understanding puberty is my responsibility and some of the subject matter for the classes I teach. My responsibilities include: planning and teaching age appropriate lessons, grading, organization of the classroom and the materials within it, communicating with parents, administration, support and teaching staff about student behavior and progress. budgeting and shopping for foods and sewing items, keeping track of expenditures for the course(cooking and sewing supplies), contacting and scheduling presenters, laundering items used in food labs, scheduling repairs of equipment...there's more. I am very responsible and You can ask anyone I work with about my credibility.

The course I teach is called "Wellness". It is a hybrid of Health and Family Consumer Education. It addresses a wide variety of health related topics like nutrition, the body systems, human growth and development, drug abuse prevention, mental health, relationships, as well as vocational education, like cooking and sewing. Wellness is a 9 week course in 6th, 7th grade and 8th grade. While I do not teach course work specifically for ESL students, my education in ESL has informed my teaching so I can better serve this population of students.
