Passionate about helping individuals to develop their entrepreneurial spirit through innovative approaches within entrepreneurial ecosystems. Leading the creation, development and delivery of major enterprise initiatives at the interface between academia and industry.Currently developing a vibrant ecosystem for enterprise at the Wellcome Genome Campus to support innovation in genomes and biodata including the BioData Innovation Centre .Many of the programmes and initiatives I’ve been privileged to lead have been aimed at enabling individuals with experience to return to university continue to develop personal skills and specific postgraduate level knowledge on a part time basis that they can immediately put into action within the workplace. Key themes have been innovative science and engineering, entrepreneurship and operating at the interface between academia and industry where theory and practice meet.One key focus was the development of the Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship at the University of Cambridge, developing a novel programme for entrepreneurs that delivers an academic and rigorous programme of learning whilst at the same time supporting individuals personal entrepreneurial development and the incubation of new business opportunities. The part-time nature of the programme enables participants from around the globe to participate and has developed both my skills and interests in online learning – exploring what’s possible, developing content to fit and catalysing collaborative and enriched learning through students participations.
