I am a small town girl from Wisconsin. I have always felt a strong spiritual connection to nature. I am in awe of the structure and form, it's concurrent complexity and simplicity. I have worked in laboratory and field research for over 30 years. My first lab position was at the USDA National Oat Quality Laboratory in Madison, WI. From there I went on to oncology research in Madison, WI, Austin, TX, Berkeley, CA and Providence, RI. In the Peace Corps I was involved with the Inland Fisheries Program in Burundi, Africa for 2 years as a volunteer and a 3rd year as Project Director. Returning to the US I became a fish breeder for a colony of pedigreed fish used in cancer research. A return to graduate school lead me to work with a brilliant entomologist and evolutionary biologist, and this brought me to climate change research/invasive species work with the USDA Forest Service. During the past 15 years in northern Wisconsin, I have nurtured and developed a love and respect for the outdoors and the simple joys of daily living in a connected way. I am seeking a position in natural resources conservation, education and management to preserve this privilege for current seekers and future generations.
