Joel Burns founded JB Resources with a vision to become a multi-faceted, private capital company creating real estate investment opportunities and captalyzing innovative growth companies.In 2012, Joel joined The Focus Group (www.tfgdev.com), a development firm based in La Jolla, CA, with a strong emphasis on single tenant NNN commercial real estate development. Joel acted as the primary equity capital source for The Focus Group, identified land opportunities for acquisitions, established and maintained tenant relationships, and worked closely with development teams. In 2016 Joel continued providing real estate funding and development services successfully completing several projects.Joel has a strong foundation of more than 27 years in the finance industry. After starting out his career in 1993 as a stock broker with Hayne, Miller Financial in Minneapolis, MN, Joel joined Retirement & Estate Advisors (REA) from which he was hired away by Sikich Cozad Asset Management in 1998, a registered investment advisory firm in Aurora, IL. He provided traditional asset management services to his clients, building a client base of more than two hundred high net worth investors and earning equity ownership in the company, which he eventually sold to start JB Resources. Joel obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1993 from Minnesota State University, Mankato with majors in Marketing and Speech Communications.

The Focus Group, based in San Diego, California, has been developing, managing, contracting and investing in real estate assets for more than 35 years. The Focus Group specializes in owning, building and managing real estate and real estate backed assets.
