Joel Johnson is a commercial real estate specialist focusing on landlord and tenant representation, sales and leasing of investment properties and owner/user buildings. He has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry working with both developers and institutional Landlords.Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Commercial, Mr. Johnson was the Director of Real Estate for Kimco Realty Corporation, one of the largest publicly traded REIT owner and operator of grocery-anchored shopping centers and mixed-use assets, where he oversaw approximately 3.4M sq. ft. of retail commercial space. In this capacity he oversaw the leasing efforts including developing leasing budgets, canvassing, tenant retention, negotiating leases, lease renewals, amendments that resulted on the successful completion of multiple transactions with national, regional, and local tenants. He was previously honored with CoStar Group’s “Power Broker” Award, given to those recognized for their closed sale and lease transactions. Prior to joining Kimco Realty Corporation, Mr. Johnson worked with the FHK Companies/Katz Kirkpatrick Properties, one of Northern California’s largest developers, who developed more than 30 shopping centers including more than 3M square feet of buildings. Mr. Johnson assisted the Principals in identifying commercial sites, site acquisition, including option sites with property owners and negotiate lease terms with tenants. Mr. Johnson graduated from California State University of Sacramento with a Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Real Estate & Land Use. He has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for the past 14 years. He was also involved in the ICSC NextGen Committee. Mr. Johnson holds both an Idaho Real Estate Salesperson License and California Department of Real Estate Salesperson license.
