Initiated a joint venture with Brazilian producer to distribute sugar in the Northeastern U.S. Generated gross margins of $.65M in 2006-2007.► Conceptualized and implemented an import program of organic commodities from South America into the U.S., gaining a share of this high growth market segment in the U.S.► Structured joint venture agreement with ED&F Man Sugar, Inc. for the distribution of agricultural commodities in the Caribbean Region. Agreement created a perpetuating profit center contributing $36M in annual revenues and net profits of $.75M.► Grew corporate rice trading revenue to a high point for the company in 2005 with a large portion attributed to recognizing and seizing an arbitrage opportunity to merchandise low cost product originated from South America.► Originated, sold, and collaborated on large sugar transactions with government companies in Algeria, Venezuela, and Trinidad. Several of these transactions proved to be the largest in company history. Subsequently completed three major transactions between 2000 and 2001, while working to develop refined sugar trade into this market.
