I relocated from Noarlunga, South Australia to Cairns in 2002. I had an exciting career in Aviation Tourism and Hospitality. In 2015 I pursued a lifelong goal of becoming an educator of Primary School Students. During my degree at James Cook University, I worked casually in the After School Care service in the mornings and afternoons of school days, I also casually worked as a learning support officer at the same school and at a local public school. This experience allowed me to practice the theories of pedagogy and behaviour management I was learning at University. In my final year of study, I was presented with an opportunity to teach before graduation. Queensland College of teachers granted this permission (PPT) and commenced classroom teaching in 2017 whilst completing my final subjects. After completing my degree and graduating in 2018. I was offered a permanent position at the school I had been teaching. St Anthony’s Dimbulah. A Catholic School on the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland. The intention for my relocations is to be closer with my immediate family members. I also wish to expand my pedagogical practice and experience. During my employment at St Anthony’s School, I have developed professionally and have had opportunities to impact student learning, well-being and have experience in maintaining a supportive classroom pedagogy. Relocating to South Australia I believe would further develop my practice and profession. I have a passion for Music and digital technology and seek to find any opportunities to enhance learning experiences and embed in the classroom. My strength and priority focus is on building and supporting relationships with students, parents and community stakeholders with an overall goal of creating and maintaining a supportive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
