Joel and Barb Wright worked as Least-Reached Peoples Strategists under the new Diaspora Ministries / International Ministries of Converge Worldwide. They have been serving in Brazil and with Brazilians for over two decades largely through Theological Education, church planting, leadership development and evangelism. From the years 1990-2007, Joel worked as full time Instructor at the Baptist Theological Seminary of São Paulo, Brazil, helping train over 1,000 new Brazilian leaders graduating into diverse ministry opportunities.Since 2007 the Wrights have been working stateside to strengthen ethnic ministries -- first with a network of Brazilian Churches, and as of 2014 expanding to incorporate strategic Least-Reached People Groups. In the new globalization, millions of students and diverse international groups come and go from China, India, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, offering unique and new opportunity to engage with new leaders both locally and globally with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Barb works full time at the Converge Worldwide administrative office in Arlington Heights, IL, supporting healthy and detailed financial administration for its national leadership and missionary staff. Joel & Barb have three adult children Joshua, Sarah, and Gabriel, all College graduates and pursuing individual careers.
