  Working in the London Cases Legal Team to provide legal support (defence side) to medical and dental professionals, predominantly with professional discipline / regulatory matters (GMC / GDC) and inquests. Assisting multiple in-house solicitors with their caseloads, I progress cases from start to finish by: helping to draft, prepare and submit legal documents; liaising with regulatory bodies, HM Coroner and the High Court; attending meetings and hearings as necessary; and acting as a contact point for our members throughout. In this role, I directly support our members and provide them with advice, reassurance and even pastoral care as they navigate what are often incredibly challenging circumstances in their professional and personal lives.In this role I have been involved with several high-profile cases, including the 2023 inquest into the death of Nicola Bulley and the current combined inquests into the 62 patient deaths of disgraced breast surgeon Ian Paterson (the largest Coroner's inquest in UK history). Constantly upskilling and gaining invaluable experience, I hope to eventually qualify into a solicitor role within the healthcare regulatory field (in-house or private practice).
