"The kitchen's a laboratory, and everything that happens there has to do with science." My passion for baking starts with my passion for science. I have been baking since I was young and I hope to do the same when I am old and feeble. My ambitions brought me from the ready to mix Betty Crocker boxes to the several tiered cakes I can make today. I understand that food is a science and one of my biggest dreams is to learn everything I can about food, from the moment the grains are harvested to the point where the bread is taken out of the oven. In an industry that is only continuing to grow, I want to make my mark however I can through growing my skills with the knowledge I obtain and experience I earn. I understand that as a food service professional, we also have a duty to provide wholesome and flavorful food to adults, children, and people everywhere. After my time at Johnson and Wales University I would like to work at an artisan bread bakery and continue to work on my skills as a baker and chocolatier. Eventually I would like to get my Master's Degree in Food Chemistry or Nutrition and open my own bakery so I can bring my unique product to the people. My end goal would be to go back to Johnson and Wales University and teach as a Baking and Pastry Instructor, though I would like to gain as much experience as possible so I don't just regurgitate information back to the next generation of bakers.
