Kemper County Igcc

Commissioned world's first Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle lignite fueled power plant with carbon capture & sequestration. Initially assisted with start-up of the combined cycle portion of the facility before progressing to the lignite/ash handling area of responsibility. In this area I was responsible for raw lignite storage, sizing, fluidized bed drying, and pulverizing. Additionally commissioned/operated coal waste water treatment, inert gas cleanup, closed cycle heating, and baghouse operations. Ash handling included; staged depressurization, pneumatic conveyance, gas recycling with compressor, and lastly loadout. Operations were commenced within environmental emission limits and in a zero liquid discharge facility. Also performed duties as Lead Operator, overseeing manpower scheduling, test package/commissioning schedule, and personnel training.
