I am a full-time student-athlete at California Baptist University pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. With a natural affinity for math and science and an undying desire to help people, I wholeheartedly decided that being a chemical engineer was for me. I believe I can make a difference in the world in areas like the environment, such as renewable energy efficiency. No matter what I pursue as a career, I want to make sure that there is meaning behind my work and that society would benefit from it. As an Eagle Scout, I have experience leading projects to benefit my local community and have dedicated over 100 hours of community service over the past four years. As I am used to local community projects, I would like to work on projects that have national or international benefits. I have always been competitive. When I was ten years old, I competed in swimming, tennis, and figure skating. I was one of those people that equally hated losing and loved winning. I eventually made a leap of faith, and over the past ten years, I have had the incredible opportunity to pursue athletics in swimming. Once I started high school, I decided I wanted to achieve as much as possible in swimming and eventually swim at the collegiate level. I was able to qualify for the U.S. Junior Nationals and become a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. These achievements led to my commitment to swim at the division I level at CBU. Swimming has helped me develop a strong work ethic and practice time management. It has also taught me the importance of delayed gratification and how the work I put into something will not always result in how I think it will.I am currently involved in numerous clubs and activities to expand my industry knowledge. I am part of an undergraduate research group with a Chemistry professor to understand why Native American plants have nutritional benefits. I am also the Secretary and Treasurer of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers charter at my school, so I am involved with leading events for like-minded peers to connect.
