As the Director of School Psychology at Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS), I oversee the delivery of comprehensive school psychological services to over 16,000 students in 18 schools. I have more than 20 years of experience as a school psychologist and administrator in urban-suburban educational settings, where I have developed and implemented evidence-based interventions, research, and policies to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of diverse learners.My core competencies include educational leadership, staff development, behavior management, learning disabilities, trauma-informed schools, restorative practices, race and equity, social justice, and school psychology. I am passionate about promoting a positive school climate and culture that fosters resilience, coping, and well-being for all students and staff. I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in School Psychology from the University of Florida, and I am licensed by the Virginia Department of Education, the Virginia Board of Psychology. I have also contributed to multiple publications on youth and adversity, school mental health, and school psychology.
