I am a materials scientist and software engineer, designing model-building software used to simulate atomistic phenomena and guide the design of better, cheaper materials.I develop algorithms that leverage large quantum-chemistry datasets to predict thermodynamic, mechanical, and dynamical properties of new and yet-to-be-discovered materials for structural applications, thermoelectricity, optoelectronic devices, and energy storage.

San Francisco, Ca, Us
I work on core geometry and interoperability for Revit.
Santa Barbara, Ca, Us
Developing theoretical methods that enable rigorous prediction of application-critical properties in structural alloys, semiconductor compounds, battery electrodes, and other crystalline materials. Assisting in advising student researchers. Co-lead developer of the CASM software project (detailed below).
Santa Barbara, Ca, Us
Developed advanced software tools for predictive simulation of the finite-temperature lattice dynamics and mechanical properties of crystalline materials, which I also used to study corrosion thermodynamics in zirconium cladding of light-water nuclear reactors. Assisted in student research advising. Co-lead developer of the CASM software project, an open-source software library and toolchain for simulating properties of crystalline materials, written in C++ and Python.
Developed and implemented state-of-the-art first-principles techniques for simulating alloy phenomena and anharmonic lattice dynamics of crystalline materials. Applied these techniques to the prediction of phase stability and constitutive relations of structural materials and corrosion byproducts (e.g., transition metals and transition-metal hydrides).
Implemented algorithms for first-principles model-building and statistical simulation for solid-state alloy systems, which I used to study phase stability and thermodynamic properties in Li-ion battery cathodes and skutterudite-based thermoelectric materials. Developed new methods to predict atomic surface structure of crystalline solids, which I have used to study the surfaces of multicomponent III-V semiconductor alloys.
