Working at Vandstrom Inc as a membrane Scientist, I have been a part of some amazing research. My specific contributions include:Developing new UF formulations on pilot caster and transferred to commercial production caster.Continuously improved UF membrane quality and uniformity production caster using statistically significant data analysis via JMP software.Developed thin coatings for biomimetic membranes using UV and IR curing that were scaled from coupon sized to continuous roll to roll systems.Developed roll to roll casting and coating systems to produce uniform UF and biomimetic membranes, utilizing spray coating and wire rod coating.Managed membrane R&D projects on UF and RO membranes.Developed SEM image analysis using imageJDeveloped protocol to determine membrane pore size via single marker cross flow testingWrote SOPs and trained technicians to use the following instruments: FTIR, SEM, UV-vis, TOC, wire rod coater, UV curingLed planning and building of pilot coating lines for creation of water purification membranes.Created thin film polyamide active layers in lab bench to develop membrane for RO and NF and UF markets for desalination. Inventor in patent application for optimization of interfacial-polymerization-created active layer. Wrote and developed standard operating procedures for complicated lab and manufacturing processesCommunicated instructions regularly with a manufacturing team in Mexico.
