Resource Technician & Coordinator
Current• Assist resource personnel to develop long-range and short-term plans for managing natural resources within the Kenai Russian River fishery. Includes identifying potential problems arising from changing use patterns, and new activities and recommends strategies to deal with them.• Coordinate, schedule, and manages daily operations, and supervises the work of 60 to 80 volunteers, lower grade team members and other hosted groups. Responsible for leading and training of volunteers in river stewardship activities as well as help organize larger stewardship days. • Acts as a peacemaker in educating, and if need be enforcement of state and federal regulations. • In charge of erosion control & stream bank habitat management for aquatic and terrestrial species. • Assists with compiling statistical records of bear encounters and activities, with compiled observations into a database, reporting bear incidents to supervisor; includes compiling compliance monitoring data into a database for a yearly report to management.
