John’s first construction-related memory is pounding nails while following his dad around their farm. When John was five-years-old, he made a tool tote for his dad using the front axle of a wagon, a planter, screws, and hay baling wire. “To this day, I take great pride in building something you need and making you feel valued,” says John. “Your success matters to me.” John has worked in commercial construction for two decades and spent more than half his career working on medical projects, the other half spent on numerous projects throughout the building industry from small TI projects to multi story buildings and almost anything in between John worked at Harlen’s Drywall as a foreman for 13 years and became general superintendent in 2018 before joining Buildskape as executive superintendent in 2022. “I have the experience to set your expectations realistically. If I tell you I will do something, I’ll do it because I am committed to making good on my promise to you.”Buildskape owner, Pete Chelico, says John’s ability to connect with industry professionals sets him apart from other superintendents. “He has that thing that you can’t teach—relatability. He wants to understand your point of view and create innovative solutions together.” In his free time, John enjoys archery, fishing, and camping.
