Research, review, and manage motions and writs, and conduct court record research and background searches on both defense and state witnesses. Responsible for lay and expert witness management during trial, and jury research and analysis prior to voir dire. Perform numerous—and usually unanticipated—tasks and projects during the trial, both inside and outside the courtroom. Address and minimize the logistical challenges that exist from working on a trial hours away from the office, and without the usual resources. Participate in pre-trial brainstorming sessions with colleagues and subject matter experts from outside the firm, to identify strengths and weaknesses in the case, and to develop new strategies.
