I refer to myself as a systems control engineer although technically I'm an electrical engineer. I have developed a strong working knowledge of Motors and Motor Drive systems, PLC systems (PLC programming, Visualization and communication), Instrumentation (i.e.Temperature, Pressure, Humidity, Flow, Length and Speed controllers), Refrigeration, Pneumatics and Hydraulics. I have many skills which are useful in the control environment. Hence I am rarely quiet.I have worked in the control and automation industry since 1983 following an apprenticeship with the NSW railways, (SRA at the time) as an Electrical Fitter hence my knowledge of electric motors and drives.During this time I studied for and obtained a Certificate in Electrical Engineering. In my final year, we were the first group to study PLC's. I then worked at ACI Petalite (Plastics extrusion and blow molding of PET Bottles) as an electrician. That's where I built my first machine to my design.(A base cup applicator)Then Pryde Measurement (Instrumentation) as a sales rep.I then moved to Freeon (later Inaco) where I became conversant with the AllenBradley / Rockwell world.I briefly spent some time with PharmaTech (Vision Inspection supply & installation, mainly pharmaceutical) before starting on my own.Since then I've worked at too many sites to mention and have a developed a number on going relationships with many of you reading this.I hope this wasn't too boring.
