This is a part-time internship with roles covering policy research, analysis, and outreach. The roles includes analyzing legislation, regulations, and court cases. By contrast research, analysis, and support includes assessment of government agencies’ roles, policies, and positions. Outreach entails covering congressional hearings and markups, preparing and attending congressional, administration, and NGO coalition briefings. Subject matter will cover many of the issues in which WWF is involved like biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, environment and security, climate change, and energy.

This role mainly focuses on media monitoring to ensure that news surrounding the Senator is tracked, recorded, and that the staff are fully aware. Tracking press lists is imperative so that the Communications Department is fully aware of the news. This role also helps to alleviate the press team of some of the pressures of the unpredictable news cycle by working on smaller projects like media production, pulling news clips, and assisting in the creation of press releases. Lastly, the role supports the office at large by monitoring constituent outreach through phone calls, physical mail and voicemails.

The position also works alongside other office staff to complete important legislative projects for the Congressman.
