Responsible for addressing a wide range of multi-disciplinary technical challenges to accelerate new ideas.

Thesis: Predicting the Strength of Planetary Surfaces.-Created the Level Set Splitting Method for the accurate and efficient modeling of breakage within the Level Set Discrete Element Method (LS-DEM), a multi-body dynamics simulation technique.-Implemented the bonded particle method in LS-DEM for the first time, allowing for the breakage modeling of any material with a connected granular microstructure, such as sintered ice on the surface of icy worlds in the solar system.

-Developed a multi-body dynamics model in C++ (Level Set Discrete Element Method with Bonded Particles) to simulate the impact of a lander on the surface of Enceladus.-Used image processing techniques to produce 3D numerical avatars from X-Rays of surface simulants.

-Built the first structural dynamics numerical model of a block tower style GESS. -Provided all numerical modeling support for the first seismic experiments done on block tower style GESS. The numerical model had close agreement with DIC and predicted the correct failure mode on all 22 tests across multiple scales, materials, ground motions, and components of motion.
