Eastern Emergency Relief Network (EERN) collects donated household items and places them in a warehouse in Mitcham. These may be any items needed for a person in difficulties to establish or maintain a home. They include refrigerators, washing machines, beds, table and chairs, couches cupboards and kitchen items. These donated items are inspected (and electrical items tested) and then offered to people in need. One of these is an early morning run and the other, a lunch or dinner run. The Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) (now Australian Flexible Pavement Association - AfPA) was formed in 1969 and is the peak industry body representing the flexible pavement industry. Members include all major asphalt and sprayed sealing companies, bitumen suppliers, state road authorities and most of the relevant equipment suppliers and consulting firms.Its primary role is to promote the sustainable use of bituminous surfacing across Australia. AAPA is governed by a national Board of Directors as well as member branches in each state.As CEO I managed all aspects of the Association, including its staff on behalf of the Board.
