After receiving a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, MacLeod joined NASA (Houston, TX), and worked on the design, development, test and technical management of communications and data systems for the Apollo, Skylab and Space Shuttle programs. He created the system design for the Apollo ground communications network that included computer and data communications’ innovations that were selected by NASA Management for implementation. He later had overall technical management responsibility for the Space Shuttle communications and data system and received many NASA awards, including the NASA Exceptional Service Medal for development of the Space Shuttle to TDRSS (Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System) communications system (the only Johnson Space Center employee so honored). MacLeod's graduate studies were at Rice University, The University of Houston at Clear Lake and UCLA.He proposed and championed the addition of encryption and command authentication on Space Shuttle communication links, for which he was granted the NSA (National Security Agency) Distinguished Service Award. He also received the Personal Communications Industry Association Chairman’s Award, which recognizes the individual whom the PICA believes made the greatest contribution to the wireless communications industry during the previous year.MacLeod was co-founder and President of SpaceLink Systems, which designed many wireless industry firsts including the first direct broadcast satellite system and the first satellite communications system for semi-submerged (movable) drill platforms.MacLeod was co-founder and Executive VP, Technology of Metrocast, this country’s first, nationwide wireless messaging company and the world’s first international wireless messaging company.MacLeod was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Aradiant Corporation, a wireless communications gateway company, formerly known as NDC. He started NDC with 14 employees and grew the company to over 1,400 employees in less than five years. MacLeod was VP and CTO of Abacus Communications LC, a “Top 25” teleservices company. MacLeod headed the IT Department of Cellphire Therapeutics for almost seven years and later headed the IT Department of Payment Solutions, Inc. for approximately four years. He is currently the CTO at Wrethink, Inc. These services were provided by Dynamic Technology Support Services, Inc., a sole proprietor company that provides advanced technology and business services.
