Under the new ownership, role changed to one that focused on moving finished editorial pages to thepress room for printing. This involved maintaining image setting and film processing hardware, imageprocessing software, and networking with the location in Gypsum. This role required a high level ofspecialized technical knowledge, while continuing to meet.

Promoted to this role when the previous production manager moved on. Responsible for maintaining aschedule of ads, laying out the advertising on news pages, and maintaining computer hardware, software and networking. Working with others and meeting deadlines were important aspects of this position.

Hired to work in advertising production, producing display ads, proofreading and correcting, doing paste-up and image setting. The work was done on Macintosh computers, using Quark XPress and Adobe Photoshop. Also heavily involved in building and maintaining the first web site for the newspaper. Accuracy and meeting deadlines were important aspects of this.

For this job, placed with the local Procter & Gamble plant as part of a team conducting testsevaluating a new manufacturing process. A variety of equipment and testing procedures were used toquantify how changes in the process affected the final product.
