Worked in Workplace Pensions Pricing which primarily involved the building and maintaining of the actuarial models for setting a price. These models had to be robust and ensure that we could set terms that achieved a profitable outcome and allowed Aviva to compete in the market.The communication of terms often required presenting to the senior leaders, discussing strategy and problem solving to ensure we could meet requirements.Alongside this there were significant other deliveries while in the role including project deliveries, process improvement and optimization.

Managed a team of two actuarial advisers responding to technical queries from both within the business and from customers. This was across both Life and Pensions products. Developed a team wide (50+ people) VBA training program that linked skills to day to day work making it more relevant.

Responsible for implementing multiple pricing reviews which included refining assumptions with technical committees in Finance, discussing pricing impacts with Distribution teams and positioning targets to achieve the strategic aims. Collaborated with wider business areas including Actuarial Reporting on understanding the overall position to Workplace business, IT around developments in systems for new deliveries such as Active Member Discount. This included Prophet development of the Workplace models

Provided actuarial expertise on a wide variety of both Pension and Life projects ensuring that deliveries matched the specifications provided and testing was robust.Worked with the operations areas to ensure they had the knowledge to work with the tools that Actuarial EB provided to them. In addition there was close co-operation between areas when answering customer queries.Developed a set of tools that automated mainframe functionality to massively reduce human input and error. These tools were ultimately rolled out into other areas for automation.
