Hi, I’m Mike, a senior designer based in Wellington, New Zealand. My passion for drawing, art and craft at a young age led me to pursue a bachelors degree in Communications and a graduate diploma in Digital Media. This allowed me to be versatile in my creative approach, developing my career in both the private and public sector, in various creative disciplines such as print and digital design, brand development and management, brand-led campaigns, information design, illustration, social media, photography, typography, marketing and print production to name a few.My love for design and art has developed from being a hobby and passion to using it as a means of communication and a tool for others who are in need of support. I’ve used my creative talents to draw and create artwork that encourage children and young teens to read and go to school, educate people about work safety and health, give people with various ethnicities a visual platform to promote their messages and promote Te reo Māori to a wider audience. I thrive in an environment where not only can I use my experience to create meaningful design work and visual comms, but to also provide mentorship, guidance and design knowledge to empower aspiring creative minds, junior designers, staff and working professionals for them to be able to progress on their journey.
